Square One Founder to Speak at AUA on Successful Business Management

YEREVAN–Sam Samuelian, an AUA MBA Alumni who founded the successful diner chain Square One, will be lecturing on business profitability at the American University of Armenia on Tuesday, December 4.

The lecture, titled “How to plan, fund and operate a profitable business,” will be held in room 308E at 6:30pm (Armenia Time). The educational event is part of a series of Entrepreneurship and Innovation events being organized by AUA’s Center for Business Research and Development.

Currently a managing partner at Dionysos Management Company, Mr. Samuelian moved to Armenia from Lebanon in 2001, graduated from AUA with an MBA in 2002 and founded Square One with the money he borrowed from friends in the Diaspora.

The brand was merged into a larger chain which is presently operated by Dionysus LLC. The portfolio of companies it operates includes KIA Motors, Chery Motors, Segafredo coffee shops, Cinnabon bakeries, Southern Fried Chicken, Square One diners and Paul bakeries, in addition to Sidon Travel, a US based travel agency. Mr. Samuelian is an active supporter of AUA and is a frequent guest speaker at the MBA Entrepreneurship classes.
