YEREVAN, Armenia — The American University of Armenia (AUA) is pleased to announce the recent grant award by the American Consulate General in Armenia for designing and supporting the proposed specialized English language training of law enforcement officers. The program constitutes tailored courses designed to enhance the English language proficiency of participants, with a focus on legal and professional content that aims to enhance the overall competency of law enforcement officers.
Thus, the approved funding of U.S. $170.000 will directly support the specialized English language training of up to 100 Armenian law enforcement officers, while upgrading their professional communication for meaningful exchanges with their counterparts, constituents, and the public. To this end, the program focuses on strengthening the participants’ proficiency in legal and law enforcement terminology to ensure they are better equipped for effective collaboration and communication with international counterparts for heightened impact.
To accomplish the established goals, AUA Extension will draw from a pool of highly qualified and certified instructors and provide the required logistical support to ensure the successful implementation of the approved program. This entails having in place a fully functional course structure and management for achieving the planned results. Importantly, through the use of a thematic instructional approach, Extension will pay special attention to the components of the curriculum to result in the participants’ comprehensive understanding of international legal English terminology. These may include key legal concepts, such as company formation and management, contract negotiation, protection of intellectual property rights, employment law and other related topics. By emphasizing real-world applications, the program is geared toward ensuring that law enforcement officers are able to comfortably navigate legal processes and communicate effectively in professional contexts.
