Program:                                  Small and Medium Business Development Program 

                                                   in Armenian Provinces with Scholarship for Women

Location:                                  Yerevan with frequent travel to regions of Armenia and Artsakh

Immediate Supervisor:           Director of Open Education, AUA


Position Description & General Responsibilities: Program Manager, under the general guidance and direction of Open Education Director as well as in consultation with the Dean of the College of Business and Economics, is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the SME Business Development Program with Scholarship for Women.  S/he also is responsible for coordinating the program business and coaching components development, recruitment of students in the provinces of Armenia and Artsakh, collaboration and coordination with partner organizations in their day-to-day program and program-related responsibilities. The Program Manager will be expected to frequently travel to regions of Armenia as well as Artsakh for both program organization and teaching.

 Specific Tasks & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide efficient and effective program management; 
  • Prepare detailed implementation plan and timetable;
  • Coordinate foreseen activities of the program to ensure timely and qualitative delivery of the expected outcomes and deliverables;
  • Ensure the success of the program implementation;
  • Monitor progress of the work plan and deliverables of the Program;
  • Liaise and maintain good relations with all project stakeholders;
  • Prepare, or as appropriate, supervise the preparation of, progress reports, project completion reports and other reports that may be required;
  • Organize and participate in recruitment of qualified women entrepreneurs into the AUA entrepreneurship and business management training program; develop process and procedure for the recruitment;
  • Coordinate with College of Business and Economics faculty to develop the business program content and materials;
  • Coordinate with Open Education language program to place students into the language proficiency courses and monitor progress;
  • Develop and coordinate coaching and mentoring component of the program;
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with both nation-wide as well as local organizations, work closely with AGBU WE, as well as TRDP programs to recruit graduates and exchange information;
  • Engage in teaching one module per semester;
  • Prepare and actively engage in disseminating information on the Program throughout Armenia, provide content for the promotional materials including digital media;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested by the supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Masters Degree or equivalent in business management;
  2. Work experience in the relevant field;
  3. At 5 years of work experience in program management;
  4. Strong project management, organizational and decision-making skills, ability to work independently;
  5. Experience in teaching;
  6. Fluency in Armenian, English languages, knowledge of Russian desirable;
  7. Ability to work under pressure and within strict time frames;
  8. Ability to travel independently throughout Armenia and Artsakh;
  9. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, team building and team playing skills, and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment;
  10. Fair and devoted attitude towards the work;
  11. Desire and ability to work in a team environment.
