Health Alert Update November 16, 2020

Dear AUA Community,

As we continue to navigate these challenging times, I want to commend our community for its ability to adjust to these ever-changing circumstances while maintaining the utmost care for one another.

Thirty days ago we established a temporary suspension on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities on campus in response to the spike in COVID-19 infection rates in Armenia. The situation around the pandemic was unfortunately made even more difficult by the war and the resulting shortage of hospital beds.

Because COVID-19 infections rates are not decreasing we will continue our suspension of co-curricular and extra-curricular on-campus activity until the start of the Spring 2021 semester. We hope to encourage on campus co-curricular and extra-curricular activity with the start of the Spring 2021 semester.

Additionally, due to the ongoing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and our dedication to protect our community’s health and safety, we have decided that the Spring 2021 semester will be delivered online. All Spring 2021 courses will be delivered on-line.

This is not the decision we wanted to make, but the COVID-19 pandemic leaves us with few options. We know that you understand and are also dedicated to our community, the health and safety of all Armenians, and the education, research, and outreach mission of AUA. Let us continue to stand strong together.

Best wishes and stay healthy,

Karin Markides

President
