Full-Time Faculty in Computer Science

The AUA Akian College of Science and Engineering welcomes applications from well qualified candidates in all areas of Computer Science for a full-time faculty position. Strongest consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the areas of data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, databases, or visualization. Prior experience in academic administration or service is desirable, but not required.

Faculty positions at AUA typically involve teaching three courses per semester, engaging in program development and university service, and pursuing a research agenda in line with a definition of scholarship which allows AUA to tailor recognition of faculty activities and efforts to the unique qualities and strengths of the university.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate likely will hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have experience in several of these four areas:

1. Data science, statistics, and applied mathematics. Please note any experience you have with data analysis; computer vision, NLP, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, machine learning and AI.
2. Computer science. Please note any experience you have with programming languages; software engineering; data structures and algorithms; computer science theory, models of computation and computational complexity; operating systems; parallelism; databases, networking, and security.
3. Advising, mentoring, and teaching students. Please note any experience you have teaching undergraduate or graduate students, as well as teaching in a traditional classroom and/or online environment. Include any student supervision or mentoring experience.
4. Academic program management. Please note any experience you have in academic program development, governance, accreditation and assessment.
