On June 13, 2026, AUA staff members, together with family members and friends, enjoyed a memorable journey through some of Armenia’s most remarkable cultural and historical landmarks. Our destination included the iconic Khor Virap Monastery, the breathtaking Noravank Monastery, the fascinating Areni-1 Birds’ Cave, and the Areni Winery.

The day offered a perfect blend of history, culture, nature, and community. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and panoramic views, participants had the opportunity to explore Armenia’s rich heritage while learning from a professional guide, whose engaging stories and insights brought each site to life. From the dramatic backdrop of Mount Ararat at Khor Virap to the striking red cliffs surrounding Noravank, every stop reminded us of the beauty and history that make Armenia unique.

Our visit to Areni Birds’ Cave provided a fascinating glimpse into the ancient past, while the tour of Areni Winery introduced us to one of Armenia’s most celebrated winemaking traditions. A little wine tasting added a special touch to the experience, allowing participants to savor local flavors and connect with centuries-old traditions.

Beyond the historical and cultural discoveries, the trip was filled with laughter, friendly games, and meaningful conversations. Colleagues, family members, and friends enjoyed spending quality time together, strengthening connections and creating new memories outside the workplace. The relaxed atmosphere encouraged camaraderie, storytelling, and shared experiences that reflected the strong sense of community within AUA.

The excursion was both informative and entertaining — a wonderful reminder of the value of coming together to explore, learn, and celebrate the rich heritage of our country. We returned home with beautiful memories, new knowledge, and an even greater appreciation for the AUA community.

We thank everyone who joined the trip and helped make it such an enjoyable and memorable day.
