Assistant or Associate Professor in Environmental Biology

 

The American University of Armenia (AUA) Akian College of Science and Engineering is seeking applicants for a faculty position in environmental biology. Academics and scholars with a track record of teaching, research, and university service are invited to apply. Hires will be made at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Hired faculty will teach, mentor students, and conduct research in collaboration with colleagues locally and globally. Teaching is expected to be in various programs but particularly in the BS in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (cse.aua.am/ess) and BS in Engineering Sciences (cse.aua.am/es). All instruction is in English.

Start Date July 1, 2024 (flexible)

Shortlisted applicants will receive an email notification from the Search Committee.

  • Letter of interest detailing their qualifications for the position;
  • Curriculum Vitae with a list of academic publications;
  • Statement of planned activities; and
  • Names and contact information of three referees that have first-hand knowledge of the applicant's accomplishments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Earned PhD in Biology or a related field
  • At least 2 years of research or teaching experience outside of Armenia, preferably in Western institutions
  • Good command of the English language (both spoken and written)
  • Demonstrated interest in guiding undergraduate students
  • Demonstrated interest in scholarship and research
  • Full-time commitment with residency in Armenia

 

Compensation:  AUA offers competitive benefit packages, including health insurance and for international faculty a housing allowance.
